Zero Waste at the National Park

In early March 2023, we organized a cleanup event at the National Park to address the environmental impact of waste and raise awareness among both locals and visitors.

This event, open to the entire community, aimed to reduce environmental and visual pollution in the Park, which has been exacerbated by the increase in waste due to a high volume of visitors. Through this initiative, we sought to educate participants on the importance of keeping the Park clean, preserving its integrity, and promoting responsible environmental practices.

The event was a resounding success, thanks to participants’ commitment, proving that collective action makes a difference.

During the cleanup, we collected small items such as cigarette butts and toilet paper, as well as larger objects, like glass bottles and an inflatable mattress. These waste items not only harm the Park’s natural beauty but also pose a threat to local wildlife and the environment as a whole. For this reason, we emphasize the importance of not discarding any waste in nature. All waste, whether organic or inorganic, should be taken to town for proper disposal.

Beyond the cleanup itself, the event served as a reminder of the importance of responsible tourism that respects and protects natural areas. We firmly believe that the sustainability of tourism in our region depends on collaboration between the community and visitors. Initiatives like this bring us closer to a model where environmental conservation and economic development can coexist harmoniously.

We will continue to promote these initiatives and encourage everyone to join future cleanup events to help protect our precious National Park.
